FAQ

Do investors pay?

Not for access. Investors, board members and viewers use Boardroom free on any company plan. An investor can choose to pay for the Pro or Max plan of a company they back, but that is optional and never a condition of access.

Can an investor pay for a company's plan?

Yes. From an investor account you can pay for Pro or Max for up to 20 companies in one checkout, choosing the plan once for every company in it: Pro at €50 a month or €480 a year per company, Max at €95 a month or €912 a year per company. Each company is invited to claim its place, and can take over billing itself at any time without paying twice for the same period.

Can I start on Free and upgrade later?

Yes. Free is a perpetual plan, not a trial, with every feature, including the fundraising page, the data room and the AI Inbox, for up to 7 stakeholders: investors on the register plus invited team members. A new workspace has 14 days to set up above that number. Past it, or when you need more credits or storage, you upgrade from Billing, monthly or annual: to Pro for up to 50 stakeholders, or to Max above that.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Pro and Max start with one month free, once per company. You add a card to start and nothing is charged during the month, and we send a reminder before it ends. Cancel in Billing before the month ends and you pay nothing: your workspace moves to Free. Otherwise the plan carries on and the first payment, monthly or annual as you chose, is taken on the day the free month ends. A company that has had a trial or a paid plan before pays from the start. Free itself has no time limit.

What is Max for?

Larger cap tables, from Series A on. Max has every feature, as every plan does, with no limit on stakeholders, 50 GB of storage and 6,000 credits a month. Pro never locks your portal when you grow: adding a stakeholder beyond 50 asks you to move to Max, and the change is prorated.

What are credits?

Credits count how much your workspace uses the portal, not which features it has: every plan has every feature. They cover AI work, scanned pages, emails to investors and prospects, and data-room visitors. Each plan has a monthly allowance, with extra in the first month for importing your records, and Billing shows your usage as a bar. Credits reset each month on the date your workspace was created. If they run out, your own AI actions and email sends pause until the reset or an upgrade; a data-room visitor is never turned away, and the register, the investor portal and the rest of Boardroom carry on as normal. For a larger allowance, Free can upgrade to Pro and Pro can move to Max.

What uses credits?

100 credits is roughly 8 documents read by the AI import, 1,000 emails to investors, or 100 data-room visits. In detail: AI work in an import, reading your documents to build the cap table, uses about 13 credits per document, charged at what the work costs. Any other AI action, such as a draft, a summary or filing an email, uses 1 credit. A scanned page uses 0.2 credits. An email to an investor or prospect uses 0.1 credits per recipient. A data-room visitor uses 1 credit per person, per room, per day.

Does Free include a data room?

Yes. Every plan includes the data room, with engagement analytics and tracked, expiring links, and it has no price of its own. On Free it shares the plan's 5 GB with your files, and each visitor uses a credit per room per day from Free's monthly credits.

Is the data room priced per user?

No. It is part of the plan and shares its storage with your files. Each visitor uses one credit per person, per room, per day from the company's monthly credits, and is never turned away, even when the credits run out. Investors, board members and viewers never pay, and advisors count as stakeholders like any other user.

Do archived data rooms cost anything?

No. When a round closes you can archive its room: it becomes read-only, stays on the record, and no longer counts towards your storage.

Is there a limit on storage?

Yes, one number per plan, covering files and data rooms together: 5 GB on Free, 10 GB on Pro and 50 GB on Max. That is far more than a company's investor documents normally need. You are warned as you approach the limit. There is no separate storage charge.

Are prices inclusive of VAT?

Prices are shown in euros excluding VAT. VAT is applied at checkout according to your billing address, and the charge is localised to your currency.

Is there a contract?

No. Pro and Max are subscriptions you manage yourself from Billing: change plan, switch between monthly and annual, or cancel, at any time. Plan changes are prorated.
